Why The Petition?

On May 19, 2011, President Obama gave a speech in which he stated: "We believe the borders of Israel and Palestine should be based on the 1967 lines..." Though he quickly began to back peddle after receiving sharp criticism, Obama's statement reflects his policy position. But does it reflect your position? Does it represent the people of the State of Iowa?
Israel is the only stable nation in the Middle East and the only true ally of the United States in the region. But even more importantly, as Christians, we recognize the importance of supporting Israel. God promises to prosper those who love Jerusalem (Ps 122:6).
As citizens of the United States of America, we have the right and the responsibility to make our position known. Let's make a statement to the leadership of the State of Iowa by presenting a petition that not only states our support for Israel, but also encourages a resolution by the Iowa Legislature supporting Israel and its right to maintain its current borders.
Legislation has been introduced. Please add your voice. Sign the petition and let the voice of the people be heard in support of Israel. By doing so I believe we invoke certain blessings from God upon our state and our nation.
